A new way to make and collect contemporary art

At the core of the Zien platform is a novel approach to art collection that combines both on-screen and offline experiences. We refer to these artworks as "Expanded NFTs," which are digital art pieces that can be redeemed for their physical counterparts at any time.

All artists develop and produce physical prototypes before releasing works on Zien. The extent of their involvement in the production of physical artworks when Expanded NFTs are redeemed depends on the nature of the works and the artist's intent.

You will need an Ethereum wallet to take ownership of Expanded NFTs. We recommend using Rainbow wallet, however there are several others to choose from.

Zien is a Web3 marketplace for digital-physical artworks. We call these Expanded NFTs. Led by our belief that there needs to be a new way to engage with art that’s simultaneously on-screen and offline, Expanded NFTs are artworks that lives on the internet and can be redeemed, on-demand, for physical counterparts.

After an owner chooses to redeem the physical artwork, the Expanded NFT undergoes two steps. In the first step, the Expanded NFT is locked to the redeeming wallet during production, preventing its sale or transfer to another wallet. In the second step, authentication information, including images of the physical artwork, are appended onchain before restrictions are lifted.

Physical counterparts of Expanded NFTs are custom-produced according to the specifications and timeframes set by artists. The fabrication and delivery timeframes are specified on the drop page of each artwork.
